About The Artwork

The acrylic and mirror sculptures in the Polyhedron series allow me to express the perceptive geometry through the interplay of colorful geometric form along with its shadows and reflections. The “Geocube” painting is a 2D painting on a canvas, depicting the projected space seen in 3D. These compositions are drawn from life and allow me to represent dimensional form via Prismatic Painting, a new method of expressing spatial dimension. Starting from simple sketches, I utilize geometry to create compositions. The possibilities are endless, just like in architecture and design.

I was born In Teheran, Iran to Armenian parents. I left to United Kingdom with family when I was ten years old and grew up in Sussex and London, where I achieved my undergraduate degree in Interior Architecture from London Metropolitan University, later moving to the US following my family. I worked for years as an interior designer and colorist for Silicon Valley giants and later in Los Angeles for themed entertainment on award winning attractions for major Hollywood studios. I decided to become an independent artist and concept designer, employing my visual creative skills in color, material and design, and exploring ideas more fully as an artist in multiple disciplines including painting and photography, sculpture and installation. My works are in public and private collections in USA, Japan, Peru, UK, France, UAE, as well as museums in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Chicago. My interest in laws of symmetry and spatial projection allowed me to explore the relationship between materiality, illusionistic and literal space. My work is a personal expression of my lifelong fascination with visual and emotional effects of color, light and shadow, negative space, and the changing alignment of form as one's viewpoint changes. Inspired by nature and personal experience, my recent sculptures and installations explore the concepts of color, space, movement and transition. Through a meticulous and careful process I strive to create unique works of art of great visual impact, processing the potential of seemingly infinite complexity and exquisite beauty. I innovate with methods, mediums and machines, to develop my ideas, in the physical creation of a drawing, painting, a dimensional sculpture, or an entire immersive environment. As a dreamer and storyteller I have worked on award winning theme parks creating an experiential narrative based on films or stories - my art continues this tradition as it excites and gives energy to a place where you can dream and transcend into a meditative place to heal and connect in a higher spiritual domain - a place where you can question, drift and wander... a place of refuge and relaxation - a meditative place with balanced and minimal stimulus to feel good and enjoy the sweetness of life- where you can learn to walk in beauty !
