Gianna Kebarg (the artistic pseudonym of Yanina Grabek) presents a painting practice rooted in emotional expression, intuition, and an individual mode of perceiving the world. Her visual language is defined by a reduced formal vocabulary, assertive linework, and strong contouring, which together construct clear, highly distinctive compositions with a pronounced expressive charge.
The starting point of her work lies in observations of nature, human presence, animals, and everyday situations, which are translated into images positioned between figuration and abstraction. A key aspect of her practice is the reduction of form while preserving emotional intensity and visual rhythm.
Rather than reproducing reality, Kebarg focuses on its interpretation through atmosphere, memory, and subjective experience. Her compositions are built through contrast, deliberate painterly gesture, and a carefully balanced colour palette, resulting in works that are both formally coherent and aesthetically precise.
Her paintings propose a contemplative mode of viewing, encouraging slowed perception and a deeper emotional engagement with the image. Each work functions as an autonomous semantic structure, open to individual interpretation by the viewer.
Gianna Kebarg’s practice is represented in private collections internationally and aligns with contemporary painterly expression that emphasises the gesture of the artist, emotional resonance, and formal reduction.
