Explanation: This piece represents hard times of loneliness and isolation. It is talking about being in a situation where you are left with no options and you feel dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t. The main character is the second from the left who is trapped between two monsters. The first group of monsters is on the right, which represents the retreat and going back to failure and the other monster is the one on the left (the one who is in front of the main character) .This monster, with one of his hands, grabs the neck of the character trying to suffocate him and with the other hand is grabbing his balls trying to kill the main characters courage. As a result he feels trapped and dammed if he does go forward and dammed if he retreats. No options available. He is dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn’t. Few words: There are times in life, hard times, when you feel lonely. Nobody understands you, nobody knows what you’re going through. One of these times is when you feel trapped without options. When you can no longer go forward but you can’t also go back and change direction. You feel frozen and you stay steel. That’s when you wake up and you have no courage to get on your feet and fight, because you can’t see nothing good coming. That’s when life scares the shit out of you and you can only see the darkest of the dark approaching. A big monster in front of you with one hand grabbing your neck, suffocating you, and with the other hand grabbing your balls, trying to suck out the last courage drops left inside you. And behind you even worst shit happen. The demons of failure party waiting for you. And you are dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t. ARTIST STATEMENT: When I begin a new work of art, I am at peace. My ideas are not so much premeditated but rather led within each moment. I will think on a subject that is important to me for some time but it is within the moment of creation that the idea truly unfolds into something bigger. As a commentary on critical social issues, my work is intended to invoke conversation and a deeper exploration of their very existence and their ongoing effects on the world around us. These topics may include mental health, warfare, food & health, immigration, drug addiction or environmental destruction. I may also reflect on topics such as love, music and the struggles of life and transitions. My work examines the intricate details of each issue and the cyclical, hypocritical nature of our society at large. Each piece is very specific and has an expanded meaning and a deeper message. Every detail you see adds to that overall message. My belief is that you can like something that looks beautiful but you can only love something that means something deeper to you and emotionally touches you. It is at this moment when the artist and the viewer can walk through the same thought patterns. When I am deciding on a piece and the materials to use, it is serendipitous and is connected only to the moment of creation. I believe that each technique and each material has a right place and a right time and each one becomes the bridge that allows me to express my thoughts in a unique and creative way.
