Name :Rukshana Hooda ~ Semi Abstract Artist. I make you feel nature’s soul. My artworks bring the enchantment of nature into your home or workplace. Almost every artwork will have some element of nature, to bring you closer to Mother Earth. Myself & Art ~ I love to create and am inspired by my surroundings, nature, sky, chirping birds, changing seasons, and most of all my travels. But then, I never felt I would be a Professional Artist in school. Since my first attempts, I realized how important painting was to me: it filled my afternoons, and after classes, and I could create my universe with just a glass of water and a brush. That's the natural way I always tried to approach my artwork. The result is a relentless search for an expressive method, experimenting with different art techniques and accurately selecting materials that allow my work to be unique, fine, and long-lasting. My favorite genre is always 'Villages of India' in acrylics, charcoals, and textures. I have captivated the daily life, enjoyments, celebrations, and daily chores of villagers and artisans of India. Viewing various textures in nature inspired me to create a new range of textured Abstracts. Being a Semi Abstract Artist with a Foundation degree from Sir J.J. School of Art and a Diploma in Textile Design from Sophia College, Mumbai. I also created Semi-Abstract Paintings which are about designating a style of painting or sculpture in which the subject remains recognizable although the forms are highly stylized in a manner derived from abstract art. I believe that art is the communication of knowledge and experiences. I mainly use charcoal in my construct as this is where we all come from and also believe in the adage, ashes to ashes, dust to dust! We will all eventually return to where we have emerged. I am inspired by the five elements of nature, Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Void. For me, Colors are like the rewards of life that one receives from the universe hence they are always bright and alive, colors also create a sense of positive energy in contrast to the stark charcoal that I use to form the blueprint of my thoughts, from darkness to light. All feedback for my work is welcome, and I am surprised by the way people interpret my paintings and that keeps me alive and bewildered. It’s the journey of evolution and imagination and the opportunity to experience the process of learning and unlearning which helps me create better.
