José Gislero is a Swiss painter whose work explores the tension between personal memory and universal suffering. After a diverse international career in engineering, he dedicated himself to art in 2008, training at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes "San Alejandro" in Havana, Cuba. Currently based in Andalucía, he has developed a practice that reflects his experiences living between contrasting cultures and environments. His work centers on figurative and expressionistic oil paintings that often function as narrative reflections or "painted prayers."
