'Darling Dahlias'. Original Painting on Canvas Painting

There is a local grower to me, you can find her on Instagram under . These beautiful blooms were gifted to me and I set to work immediately. She wrote a message to me saying that she was 'drowning in Dahlias' and would I like some, I thanked her profusely and set to work in my studio. This painting is the result of my study, you can see the original flowers which I hope will give you a feel for how I've interpreted them. Big, blousy blooms in beautiful colours. I also added a couple of home-grown hydrangeas from my own garden to bring about a balance of colour. Finishing off with lashings of gold, this is a bright ,sizeable, positive painting and I had a wonderful time making it.
