I was delighted and inspired by the richness of the colors of this landscape in the golden rays of the spring sun, great space that was opened from the coast and the view of the bridge in the distance. Here we see the coast of the Daugava River, in the Kengarags residential area, in Riga city. This is time when I was a full of romance student- I often went to paint etudes, I was ready to paint all day long. In this artwork, I wanted to convey the joyful, calm and spring-like romantic mood that overwhelmed me then. I really like to remember my youth, this energy and enthusiasm, looking at this landscape. The work is written from nature, pasty and juicy strokes. The color scheme consists of sky blue, blue, orange, light green, golden shades. Painting can be attributed to impressionism. Most of all I value coloristic beauty of their works as well as the artists’ ability to show the weather conditions and the state of the nature with one brush stroke. Now I look into the future with greater confidence, think over new creative plans, and expect fulfilling them!
