Day Painting

Day is the first of two painting, the second being Night, that tries to capture and communicate the feeling of a time of day. Day employs bright colours and a simple composition to communicate the youthfulness of a right day. The shapes are split up into groups, like cliques in a playground; friendship groups. the escalation of scale, from one circle to two to three ,tries to embody the essence of family and growth in maturity. Oil paint is the predominant medium with the occasional use of acrylic and is entirely painted freehand. The paper is heavyweight Fabriano printmaking paper (can find the gsm if desired). The piece will be shipped flat instead of rolled in a tube as the paper tends to condition itself to stay curled after being rolled.
