Shahid's paintings has a unique feel about them, they are vibrant vivid and soulful. He paints a varied spectrum of subjects from historic buildings to cities , landmarks to landscapes, paintings inspired by old masters and impressionists to abstracts, sensual subjects,nature, flowers and figurative work. He paints subjects and themes he feels strongly and is passionate about .The interplay of colour light and texture in his work create a vibrant yet harmonious composition. He has done several paintings inspired by the works of Picasso, Degas,Poussin Auguste Mackie and Bouguereau. He has travelled extensively around the world and seen the work of great artists and old masters. His travels has given him a unique perspective on life which he reflects in his work. He mainly paints in acrylic and water colour and like to mix various media to create unique effects which he can call his own. His inspirations for painting also comes from the beautiful and serene landscape of Scotland where he lives and work.
