ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The acrylic was chosen as during this period the emotions were rapidly changing and the medium allowed to go on with the work as long as you wanted. The need of clear colors was also a factor to use a quick setting material as Acrylic. These materials were new and it was interesting to produce such a beautiful piece of art. The painting has been seen by many and everyone had a very peaceful feeling with the artwork. Even my children could stare at it as infants and the painting would calm them and they would look at it for a long period. I have this painting in my living room. The subject matter comes to my mind spontaneously.

Born in Colombo, Sri lanka in 1962. Jeevana moved to Sudan, Africa in 1983, where he worked as an artist and painter associated with the wildlife society. The subjects were nature, animals and birds. Jeevana had no traditional education in art, but he has worked in studios with many artists in Sri Lanka, Africa and in Europe. During the African period, he entered the University of Khartoum, Faculty of Medicine and graduated as a dental surgeon. He came to Finland in 1988. Jeevana changed his style from realism to contemporary art since 1992. He uses all media but has a great love for oil pastels, which he uses more commonly nowadays. In 2014, he has returned to producing some nature paintings. He has applied artistic skills in medicine. He has been using non-surgical aesthetic enhancement techniques in the facial region since 2002. He travelled away from Finland in 1998 and since has returned to Finland in 2013. Jeevana has his studio in Herttoniemi, Helsinki, Finland.
