About The Artwork
I painted these rocks plein air in Hong Kong near Chuck Hom Kok Beach. Their forms were filled with hollows-- patterns carved by centuries exposure to the wind and elements. My seated position was particularly uncomfortable, perched on a steep ridge covered in jungle vegetation. Sometimes getting the perfect vantage point is the most challenging aspect of plein air painting.
