Did You Say Chocolate? Painting

"Did You Say Chocolate?" I photographed these beautiful Scarlet Red Macaws while on an educational tour with a professional artist and free-lance photographer through the jungles of Costa Rica. Hundreds of these colorful birds were inhabitants of a local animal rescue farm and when called from the trees by the owner, flew to strategically placed barrels topped with fruit in a cleared area for viewing. As it was my great pleasure capture their grand stature and colorful feathers on paper, I found myself assigning conversations to the birds that I felt they might be initiating. In the jungle, Macaws are often seen perching in their favorite cocoa trees. In this painting, while the other birds appear content, the large bird on the left seems to be curiously hoping for something sweeter to eat, thus the title of the painting, "Did You Say Chocolate?" comes to mind.
