As a contemporary figurative artist, I create paintings that capture impressions of human emotion. Many of my pieces celebrate the strength, power, beauty, and resilience of women. My art gained recognition in the Wilmington art scene in early 2024 with a solo exhibit at Ace's Gallery. My work has also been showcased at the Wilma W. Daniels Gallery, the Wilmington Art Association's Spring Art Show, Gallery Citrine, and The 25th Annual Landfall Foundation Art Show & Sale. Currently, I am working on expanding my presence into larger art scenes. Dionne Stokley grew up in a family of professional artists, which provided a strong foundation for her early immersion into the creative world. With over 25 years of experience, her professional journey began as a digital imaging artist for various photography labs and studios. In 2000, she relocated to Wilmington, NC, marking a significant phase in her career as she expanded into the independent film scene. It was in Wilmington that she met her spouse of 20 years and started a family. Currently, Dionne's artistic focus is on figurative work, blending elements of expressionism and reality, primarily using acrylic paint, oil paint, and mixed charcoal media.
