My latest painting titled "Dreams Of Greatness." Acrylic on Canvas. 36" x 36." ©2017 Lee Zasloff. I'm very pleased with the sense of introspection in this work which I painted about two weeks ago. I'm also very happy with the expression that I captured on his face. I was lucky enough to be working from the model directly and was enchanted by the expression of stillness and meditation. I first drew him lightly in pencil which I overlaid with lithographic crayon. I mentioned conte because there was no lithographic crayon choice. I like the feeling of drawing with this pencil/crayon. There's a certain fluidity, expressiveness and freedom that I naturally feel working with a crayon in my hand. I also love the pentimento of the crayon showing through under and over the acrylic paints. Hope you like it too.
