Drifting of Day Painting

'Drifting of Day' is an original painting on board that has been created through the layering of calico cloth, oil bar, acrylic, and linseed oil. My Approach to painting ties together the process of collaging and pasting complimentary materials together whilst intentionally removing them to form surface textures and movement. Whilst my work is abstract, my surfaces display subtle washes of colour, scratched surfaces and patchwork constructions, inspired by shifting shades and shadows and organic qualities found in human-made landscapes. This subtle yet bold artwork presents contrasting tones of cool golden washes and patches of deep blue to suggest the motion of day turning into night.
