Dubl-Eye Painting

“Dubl-Eye” uses found plywood as a ground. Using dream and mythological reference, this imagined portrait has several floating, dreamy eyes. The head is painted in thick white paint, with hints of color popping through. I strongly etched out the edges of “Dubl-Eye”- as if he needed more contrast to the background, which is strong with elements and color all on its own. Note that the dimensions of this painting are approximate. As the wood I find and use is rarely square, framing this work would be a true challenge. I discourage any effort to do so-the painting should stand on its own.
