Ecce Homo Painting

1948. Glasgow. Artist my whole life.My inspiration is from classical music and from many of the symbolist and expressionist artists; but by no means all of them. I like to think that Modern Art has the advantage over, say, the rennnaisance by the introduction of the subconscious and the psychological nuance. I was born into a family who had only a very slim relationship with art and developed culture. I needed both before I could function. Most of my paintings, however, sell to individuals, and at times I am forced to barter, say, for a piece of land or a yacht. I am deeply in love with art and its connection to life.
