ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The main idea of my work is to cross the visual language of cultural works around me. Then represent it into painting in an eclectic, simultaneous, and tangible way, to stimulate sensibility. The creative process begins by adapting various cultural works around me. Each cultural work is adapted into methods and images, then I implement each method to images that are not from the same cultural work. Using the collage way of working, these forms are composed to emphasize the emergence of the various methods. Until finally it becomes a tangible unified work. The plurality of cultural works and advances in information technology provide an informative and narrative experience simultaneously. Hence, this work seeks to shift the perspective from ‘what is seen’ to ‘how to see’ simultaneously. Medium : Acrylic, Crayon, Hand Embroidery, Ink, Oil, and Marble Powder.

Lutfi Yanuar (b. 1994), an artist born and living in Bandung City. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from FSRD ITB (graduated in 2017, Cum Laude). His life experiences in Bandung City and Kebumen Regency have inspired him to explore diverse ethical and aesthetic values. Lutfi often integrates elements of nature, traditional, and contemporary surroundings into new eclectic forms. His works often speak about human identity both socially and ecologically. Important exhibitions he has participated in include: The 9th Beijing International Art Biennale (National Art Museum of China, Beijing, 2022), Manifesto VIII (National Gallery of Indonesia, Jakarta, 2022), UOB Painting of the Year (National Museum of Indonesia, Jakarta, 2019), Anugerah Barli #1 (Gedung Sate, 2019), Art Jakarta (JCC Senayan 2022, Hutan Kota Plataran 2023, and JI-Expo 2023), Art Moment (Art:1 New Museum 2022 and Gandaria City 2023), and a solo exhibition titled "Etching Metaphors" (Orbital Gallery, Bandung 2022).
