In the underground bunker, there are cells without doors, created for our safety. The only openings are some armored windows, which allow us to observe the subjects inside: we study them, analyze them, watch how they grow and adapt to their environment. These beings, who arrived years ago and were immediately confined, are whatching us with curious eyes. The dimensions of their cells have become indefinable; the boundaries have expanded until they disappeared. Behind the haze of uncertain lights, perhaps an entire world, an unknown universe grown in those prisons, is hidden. And they are there, often, looking at us through the same windows we have built. Now it is no longer clear who is observing and who is being observed. They remain silent, without attempting to communicate. Edo is born in the bunker, not sure who are the parents. He is always moving, disappearing in the mist and coming back only to rest. Never comes to the windows, but I know that sometimes he pretends to sleep and spies on us secretly. My canvases are an attempt to bring you into the world of the bunker, trying to discern where fantasy merges with reality and to understand why does this confuse me to the point of dizziness. Acrylics have proven to be the best way to quickly capture on canvas their gazes or fragments of their world that I manage to briefly grasp. What I want is for others to recognize their existence. What I want is for you to help me communicate with them, to interpret their feelings, their expressions.
