About The Artwork

Technical information: Material/medium: Hardboard 3,2mm. Master Class Oil Paints, St-Petersburg, natural high-quality pigments. Tolls: brush The main image of the painting was taken using a photo scanner Epson v370 with 600dpi density And now a little story (Part 2. ''At Noon''): This is one of three paintings with this view. The Second One. The other two I painted at dawn and at night. (The previous one and the next one are in my portfolio) That summer I was a guide in climbing Elbrus from the South. I usually work on the North Side. But this season I spent most of the summer on the South side. In between the groups, I lived in a hotel in the Cheget glade in the Baksan gorge. 2100 m. From my balcony there was a great view of Elbrus. I brought with me all the materials for painting and hardboard panels. One day I accidentally woke up in the morning just before dawn. And then I painted in oil a view of my Mountain at this dawn time. (This is the first part of the story in the description of the previous one). Then, after breakfast, I went to the river to fish for mountain trout. The day was clear with some clouds. By noon, I returned to the hotel, I wanted to paint a view of Elbrus from here even at this time. Try to catch the dazzling whiteness of the huge glaciers of Elbrus and emphasize how all this changes at different times of the day. I installed a new panel on a tripod. And although noon makes it possible to be a little slower than sunset or dawn, I didn't hesitate. After all, I know all this well by heart. The piercing whiteness of bright snow, the smell of these pines when the mountain sun melts their resin, the sound of a river nearby, small clouds over the mountain, which is more than five and a half kilometers stuck into the sky, which means that the clouds are even higher. And the sun. It doesn't fit into the picture, but it doesn’t matter, because it's everywhere, bright and sharp. I know how it strives to fry you there, above, under the summit, on a quiet, windless day. And how you desire it when everything goes bad up there, when there is a fierce wind and a blizzard, and to the bottom - many hours of hard work. This is what I mean when I drive a brushstroke of paint into the panel. This is my answer to the Sun and this Mountain. And at night I will sit here on the balcony and try to catch the stars and night lights of Elbrus. After all, bright dots on the night slope mean that people have come to the top again. They followed the dream again. The end of the story - under the next painting Location Coordinates: 43.246342, 42.524104

I was born in Belarus, in Minsk. Then I learned to walk. A little later I learned to dive to the depth with one breath. Then I got into the mountains and It became part of my home, as well as the depths of the seas and oceans. I started taking people to the mountains as a guide. I like to share with them the most that I have. Sometimes I teach someone to dive and together we enjoy the depth and beauty of the ocean. Then I learned to fly a paraglider, and the sky also became my home and necessity. Element. Wildlife. People. With whom we manage to share really big steps and dreams. Roads. Countries. Wild landscapes and adventures. I never thought what and how to draw or paint, and whether it is worth it. Since childhood. My art is the result of spontaneous living. This is not an end in itself. This is an irresistible consequence. I just draw and paint how I feel and need it. I don't want to be guided by styles and trends, become hostage to this or that technique or niche. I don’t want to look back at tradition, fashion and praise. I want to always remain honest with myself, people and Nature, the nature of everything. If, having felt and discovered something that shocked and delighted you, you can "keep silent", then don't start painting. But I can't... I use different tools and types of paint and materials. Depends on time, location and availability. I can arrive with a full oil painting backpack and climb high in the mountains or in the sands, or sit in the middle of a stormy sea trying to translate the rumble into color. But in jail, it might just be a pen and pencil. No matter. Oil, watercolor, acrylic, various graphic tools. I think that the main thing is not this, but what has become too much to stay inside you, and what you want to share with other people. And is it there. I consider it magic when it is possible to make the world common like this, at least in the space of the picture. But still, my Queen has always been and is - oil paints. When we once again rise to the top of a large mountain, and I am leading the group, there, behind the clouds, on the summit plateau, I let them go forward, I like to see how they reach that cherished point to which we worked so long and hard. And I think this is a great Victory when in them, in people, then there is something else, besides just a photo from the top. Up there, nothing remains of them, whatever they are. People. All unnecessary - flew away along the way.
