Escape 3 Painting

The kurdish artist Osso was raised in Al-Haaska, Syria, where he early developed his passion for fine arts. At the age of 16 he moved to Damascus. Difficult political and societal systems made him move on to Beirut. His desire for artistic freedom made him escape to Europe. His journey led him to Ukraine and Russia before he arrived in Vienna. Inspired by a variety of museums, exhibitions, theatres music, dance and performances he felt that he had finally "arrived". What followed, was a lot of bureaucracy: he had to deal with residence permits and financial independence. All these experiences made his main subject, his aspiration for artistic liberty of action, even stronger. In his pictures one can access the world of Ossos passion and desire for this goal. His work is a (re)search, an exploration, a persistence almost bursting with energy, a detection of color and form. Dimensions of emotion with grief are expressed as well as poetic ecstasy and vitality.
