ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a hand-printed monotype on BFK paper. It shows the iridescence of hydrangeas. Some of the colors are mixed from pigment-pastes into a water-based monotype medium, including an opaque green which contrasts with the more transparent colors. One of the benefits of monotype is that it can produce very deep colors and strong contrasts. There are some minor incidental marks on the white border area, which can be seen in the close-up view.
