About The Artwork

Living in the desert we get sand storms several times a year. These storms are also know as "Haboobs". They are really something to see yet alone be in one. For months after experienced one. I was running in a parking lot for my car when winds of 35-40 mph blew me into a frenzy. Ever since then I have kicked around ideas of how to paint this haboob. It took several years for me to come up with this design. I wanted the viewer to feel the wind and see the down draft. I also wanted them to see the cloud of dust that consumes the landscape. It took some planning to get the sides of the two panels to line up but you get TWO DIFFERENT views and feelings with this painting. Each panel is 22"H x 28"W. OVERALL SIZE: 22"H x 56"W I am pleased. I love it so much I hung it over my sofa so I could look at it often. Please note: With the sale of any of my original paintings, the buyer gets a Certificate of Authenticity and an Artist Bio.

Carol has been a professional artist for over fifty years, mastering calligraphy, watercolors and now acrylics. She studied at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, and took many private classes but considers herself to be a self taught artist. Using lots of detail, layering bright and bold colors and sometimes a touch of humor, has won her many awards. She continues to win awards today. She has been published and has a painting in the Postal Museum of the Smithsonian. She will be a featured artist with the Mayo Galleries in Arizona later this year. Carol likes to draw the viewer into her paintings using her particular style. She loves nature and enjoys painting flowers, land/seascapes and some abstracts. She applies a lot of layering in her paintings no matter the subject matter. Always wanting to improve her skills, she taught herself how to use the palette knife. Her latest series of Moon In Africa Series is a fine example of those bright colors contrasting with the moon and the animal silhouettes. Most of her paintings are available in print through FineArtAmerica.com and through LouisLeonardArt.com It is an honor and a privilege that Carol has been invited again to be a featured artist with the Mayo Clinic Galleries in Phoenix Arizona beginning in February 21,2023 to May 23, 2023. Her main goal with her art is to make people smile. "Life needs more joy and a painting should give the viewer joy. A happy painting is my way of giving back to those who view or buy them".
