Expanse Painting

A fascinating painter CHRISTIAN HRISTOV represents his coloured paintings take us along "a road less travelled" to explore original ideas inspired by the wonderful beauty of the world. Christian was born and trained as a painter in Bulgaria, and spent most of his time with a painter-family engaged in an inspiring art atmosphere. Early experience was influence on his starting painting approach, particularly those years in the Old City Of Plovdiv like a restorer. It was impulse for the first individual exhibition there. Working on the museum "Balaban House"project he gained valuable insights into the operation of organic unity in the restoration and conservation processes. But the really seminal moment came during 1999-2004 when he was studying Fine art in Art School of Plovdiv discovering the artwork and thoughts of the ancient and famous painters, sculptors and leading theoreticians, at the same time catching the Bulgarian "˜concrete art' movement on an exhibitions which demonstrated the potential for an entirely rational way of determining colors, texture and forms. However, Christian's ideas only started to reach pre-final synthesis. The main priority is always to find a fascinating expression of the particular colours, that should then lead naturally to a perception of harmony and admiration. Christian's favor is painting the abstracted ancient buildings, seascapes and landscapes with using unusual mix of colours and their extraordinary way to apply. Vibrant, saturated hues of red and yellow, blue and grey or green and white capture the picturesque countryside, tranquil seaside of Bulgaria, Cyprus and Greece. His oil paintings have a vibrancy and rhythm that evokes a multitude of emotions. Christian had stimulating exhibition at the 2005 in "Maaza" Hindliyan House. He had other solo exhibitions in "Balaban House" museum of Old City of Plovdiv, and participated in many restoration works at "Balaban House" Museum, "Djumaja Djamia" Mosque in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. His work is held in galleries, and private collections in the UK, USA, Germany, France, Australia, Japan and Cyprus.
