Classical epochs and styles interpreted by the artist based on contemporaneity are involved into their orbit. A dramatic confrontation comes to the fore between culture and barbarism, erosion of cultural space experienced by our world. Victoria studies history creating profound and composite images. She uses her own artist technique, characterized by the combination of different factures, elements of drawing and collage. The artist perceives the world as a palimpsest in which every epoch preserves its “cultural layer”. Like camera focus Victoria`s artistic method aggregates not only several plans into perfect composition, but also turns ancient images, landscapes, remains of the Golden Age into a metaphor. Victoria works with “cultural memory”, inviting us to make a long way to comprehend great heritage of Art. Russian-born artist Victoria Dael makes abstract paintings comprised of scraped surfaces, mixed textures, and volumetric textiles. The compulsive energy of her artworks oscillates between free passion and elegant restraint. Her fresco panels, large canvases study the mechanisms of sensory perception — mining what happens when the vision interprets volumes and textures as a sound, scent, color. Victoria was born in Moscow in 1982. In 2002, she graduated from Moscow State Academic School of Fine Arts. In 2013, she graduated from University of Cinematography named after S.A. Gerasimov (VGIK) as cinema and TV art director. From 2009, she participates in various exhibitions. She became a prizewinner of the creative competition Luck is an attitude (Martini Art Club project, 2011). She presented her first personal exhibition in the halls of the Museum and Exhibition Centre “ROSIZO” (Moscow, 2012). She participated in Biennale (the project Looking Eastward of Luciano Benetton’s collection, Dakar, 2013) and in art-fairs (the project The Other Art Fair, Los Angeles, New York, 2018). She lives and works in Lviv, Ukraine and Malaga, Spain. "My artwork is my passion and you can see that passion on the canvas. You can experience that each day if you will own one of my paintings. You will join a very select group of collectors who own my artwork. I look forward to working with you! – Thank you!" Victoria Dael.
