ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Falling Moon is an abstract line drawing that follows from Kant's metaphysics and draws upon zen Buddhist philosophies. The artist draws out each line in a slow meditative pace, whilst kneeling down. In meditating on his lines he hopes the viewer will come to feel a similar contemplative calmness as felt when one sits and watches the horizon. In Jowett's 'Reflections' series the artist explores the dual nature of the meaning and experience of reflecting; from a personal to a physical experience. * Falling Moon is an acrylic and oil painting on linen stretched over wood panel.
