About the Artist
Womenbynargus Art
Nargus Harounzadeh is a New York City based Iranian artist. She has curated and produced numerous shows in the NYC area. In 2011, Nargus held her first solo exhibition, Hearts Aroar, selling half the collection.
There is an intense complexity and entropy in her paintings, yet she manages to lodge pieces of innocence and purity within her work. Each painting exudes an intentional ambigiuty, save for the flickers of hope rooted in the colors, the gazes, the portraiture.
Currently, Nargus is working towards her doctorate in psychotherapy at Columbia University. Her examination of the human condition informs and gives shape to her work. Nargus holds BAs from the University of Pennsylvania in Philosophy, Politics, & Economics, and English.
