About The Artwork
Faye had a home at the coast that my whole art group would visit once a year. This live oak was used as shade as we painted outside during many different visits. The large live oak is such a beautiful tree and I tried to celebrate the shade it offers to those who sit under it's canopy. There is no need for a frame as the painting continues to the sides.

I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC, USA and after living many other places am once again living in Raleigh, NC. I love painting landscapes using either a brush or palette knife with oil. I love the texture a palette knife brings but what ever tool I use I paint more impressionistic. I only use my own photographs for my work to inspire me or to get me going. I hope my art makes one see their own surroundings with new eyes, and want to look at my paintings as a window to a place they may want to be or visit.
