Feathers Painting

I was going to paint something else, as usually I have an exact idea of what to paint. However, with "Feathers", it just happened on it's own. I have mixed a background colour, which turned out to be a different one from what I have originally planned. I then thought that a second layer of a different colour - turquoise specifically is called for. I have added some silver scrapings to add a beautiful decadent effect. I have wanted to paint feathers for a long time and so I have realised that feathers would look great on this background, they both contrast it and compliment it. The result as I see it a very gentle and soft painting that is pleasant and calming. It doesn't provoke strong emotions. The purpose of this painting is to hang somewhere peacefully, such as a bedroom or another peaceful environment, and remind the onlooker to be in the present moment. Such as these feathers that are caught in a fleeting moment of falling. This painting was a complete accident that wanted to happen.
