About The Artwork
My Floating Flowers series was inspired by Claude Monet's Impressionist paintings, a visit to his gardens in Giverny and childhood walks through my mother's flower gardens back in Europe. The choice of the title, Floating Flowers, is an open invitation to the viewer's eye to plunge into the composition while experiencing a sensation of mid-air suspension. It's an invitation to daydreaming about nature, free flow and genuine beauty. Since my childhood, I have been fascinated by the richness of the flora and its variety of shapes, forms and colors. I appreciate the Old Masters classic figurative style, and at the same time I love and embrace abstracted free form styles.
