Floridas Bliss Painting

Kirista Trask translates subtle moments and landscapes into swirling abstraction, blending saturated, opaque colors with translucent washes to evoke moment as an emotional experience. Her work is often created plain air style using a variety of materials, including acrylic, ink, charcoal, pencil, oil pastel, chalk and coffee, in order to react to the spirit of the location at the moment. Kirista studied Sculpture at the University of Oregon however it was not until she was out of college that she found 2D Mixed Media Art. Kirista now creates primarily Abstract Mixed Media paintings on paper. She has a studio in Cathedral Park Place, located in the St Johns neighborhood of Portland, OR where she spends most of her time. She is the Curator in Residence with the St Johns Center For Opportunity.
