Flower Field Painting

I’m Kanchana Sandamali and I was born in 1987 in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka, where I still live and work. From childhood, I used to observe various natural components and tried to absorb their unique colours, shapes into artworks. The guidance of my school, Holy Family Covent- Kurunegala was greatly affected in shining up my creativity. Though I completed my higher studies in the science stream, painting became a part of my life and I believe that it is a great way to open my energy. After my graduation, I was fortunate enough to be a school teacher which is my most preferred profession. Every time, I motivate my students to look into scientific matters through an artistic eye to understand them well since I always believe that there is a strong inter-relationship between science and art. In my practice, since 2012, I could expand my creativity in amazingly soulful and landscape paintings. I intend to capture the unique sense of natural beauty of different locations that derive remoteness, endless horizons and booming floras. Always, I pay special attention to selecting colours, lines and shapes in my paintings. I believe that the success of my creation is how much it makes relax, refresh the viewer's mind and fill their heart with happiness.
