"Fog" Painting

I am a self-taught artist originally from Georgia and currently based in Amsterdam. My art serves as my personal diary; I document the world around me and my experiences of it. I only paint my personal connections to the world and the nature I encounter. Each painting tells a story. Often, while painting, I also write in my diary, recording the feelings behind the artwork. This process is the most authentic form of self-expression for me. I believe that special moments can only be made truly memorable if I paint them as I experience them. I rent a small atelier near my home, and alongside my career as a lawyer in financial markets, art provides me with a second, personal life where I can express my most authentic self. I experiment with watercolor, pastel, and occasionally oil painting. I also explore mixed media and acrylic techniques. My inspiration comes from my emotional connection to nature, the world around me, and my personal memories and experiences. I document these moments in my art, sometimes making sketches in a small sketchbook before transforming them into larger works on paper or canvas. Often, I paint from memory, blending it with my imagination and reflecting on my emotions from the particular experience. Throughout the painting process, I make diary notes, capturing my feelings and emotions tied to the artwork.
