Nathalie Thibault is a visual artist whose practice includes painting, drawing, and poetic writing. Her approach is rooted in a performative process, and her abstract works are developed from supports with often irregular shapes, as well as elements drawn from her working environment. She holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from Université Laval (2005). Over the past twenty years, she has exhibited her work in several Canadian provinces and in the United States. Her works are included in various public and private collections in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In 2009, she was a semi-finalist in the Royal Bank of Canada’s national painting competition. She was also nominated for the Prix d’excellence des arts et de la culture de Québec in the “Emerging Artist” category (2006), as well as for the international competition 100 Painters of Tomorrow (2013). In September 2017, she participated in the exhibition Entangled: Two Views on Contemporary Canadian Painting presented at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Nathalie Thibault lives and works in Québec City, where she founded the collective Filles du désordre in 2025 with artist Isabelle Lapierre.
