Frigid Prism Painting

This hand-painted Dutch pour was inspired by music I was listening to. It was a sad song, so I laid down some cool tones of blue on my canvas. Some parts of the song reflected glimmers of hope, which inspired the addition of a few drops of warm bronze. In the end, the lyrics returned to evoking sadness, while the melody remained contrastingly positive. In my mind, this mixture of positive and negative, of hope in the face of death, translated to green, perhaps due to nature's tendency of perfect balance. Since all of these messages were separate and starkly contradicted one another, I decided not to blend the colors too much, aiming for a clear separation of colors, much like a prism splits a ray of light into a projection of all its separate colors.
