I found on the internet a photo of a man in a seated position, seen from behind. I was touched by the fact that his posture gave him some sort of humility. Not knowing his story, I imagined him, as every one of us, at some point in life when he reaches a limit. I painted him out of sympathy for human suffering. Every one of us gets there sooner or later. I am sensitive to this subject and I feel the need to explore it. The moment when man is weak. And the most extraordinary thing is that being as such, he finds in himself enough greatness to rise above anything. This leaves me utterly speechless.
The picture is painted on cardboard. It is unframed because I think the frame should be chosen accordingly to the color of the room it will be placed in.

I am an artist who deals with the theme of emotions in achromatic or monochrome images, in styles such as abstract expressionism, Impressionism, realism, minimalism and others. The human figure, realistic or transformed, the objects of nature or those invented, all have symbolic value for these states. The lack of color requires a radical asceticism, an austere simplicity in an exuberant sensory world. A reduction in noise, waste of color and easy anecdotes, which invite to meditation and re-examination of the world around us. The sublimation of subtones and valuing insignificant details and undesirable objects, but which are linked to the forgotten essential, all creates a world upside down, that questions. Pointing to values such as compassion and empathy which pay attention to the misery of the world, its sadness, its loneliness, the dumbing of the voice, the lack of freedom and so on.
