About The Artwork
This abstract piece focuses on creating new forms of expression using colour and mediums. Xóchitl uses photographs of scenic and architectural landscapes taken throughout her travels as inspiration, these photographs are then transformed into experimental designs using colour blocking, geometric shapes and lines. Her process is creating interpretations of landscapes by using acrylic mediums to alter the luminosity of the paint to develop depth, with a focus on colour, composition and balance. This abstract series mixes the elements of art & design, using the tools of classic style painting to create geometric and minimalist pieces.
