Lady Gaga is one of the most talented, creative, and diverse performer of our time. This panel of portraits is just a sample of her many "Gaga Phases". Each panel is an oil painting on acrylic background on stretched canvas. They are mounted on a navy crushed velvet background and a frame wrapped in black lace. Fans and nonfans alike will appreciate the diversity of mask-like personalities. Who is behind the face, what changes happen to her personality...or to our personality, when we hide behind the masks we create.

A couple years after finishing his Master of Arts Degree in Fine Art, Doug attended the Art Institute of Colorado. There he discovered the world of design. Then for over 30 years Doug explored design in both 2 and 3 dimensions. Many samples of design are in the "Retrospective" section of jratcliffeartist.com. He was a graphic designer at Martin Marietta Aerospace where his graphic design was recognized twice by the National Society of Technical Communicators. While at MediaOne Cable he managed the Design Communications Department, winning a Merit Award for Web Design from PRSA Colorado. In his own company Colorado Water Features, Doug designed and built architectural fountains for US Farathane in Auburn Hills Michigan, Denver Parks and Recreation, and the Colorado Athletic Club, to name a few. In 2014 at the age of 60, Doug decided it was time to return to his first love and re-emerge as an artist.
