About The Artwork
This painting is the fourth in the series of nudes relating to the mythological figure of Galatea. The inclusion of geometry as a means to define spatial awareness on a dark background is an inspiration from F Bacon’s work and the use of layering and glazing of paint is reminiscent of classical nude paintings. The artwork will be shipped rolled up in a tube together with the stretcher bars. It will require restreching by the buyer.

Born in 1987, Transylvania, I showed proclivity towards drawing from a young age, copying Rembrandt sketches from a book my grandmother bought me from an antiquarium. At that time painting didn’t interest me, it seemed too messy and permanent. I don’t mind the mess anymore, I make plenty of it in my South London studio and the permanence of my work is what drives me to improve my painting skills, so my grandmother would be proud of me.
