About The Artwork

Garlic mushrooms are one of my all time favourite dishes and when I saw this red pepper pot, I could not resist setting up a still life combining the two. It is a warm colourful and homely painting which will look fabulous in any kitchen or eating space. It is ready to bring its sense of warmth and well being to your home. Garlic Mushrooms was painted in Winsor and Newton Artists’ Quality Oil paints for the most vibrant finish. Owning a ‘Julie Cane’ enables you to forever enjoy something you love, and to experience the highest quality, collectible fine art enriching your home. My art features in many collections around the world, including England, USA and Australia. This piece would make a great investment for the home or office. Artwork will be sent to you carefully packed in protective packaging. Check my profile for my story. My paintings are each designed to reflect the world’s beauty at its best and to convey the message to cherish our world. My vision going forward is to refine my work further, improve my reach and increase my support of entities that protect our fragile Earth (and did I mention eat chocolate!)

I am an award winning Brisbane artist. I am known for my very realistic still life and leaf paintings in oil, and my botanical and flower paintings in watercolour. My landscapes in both oil and watercolour, are widely collected. My paintings reflect the world around my, the leaf pictures particularly capture nature at its best, including its ability to reduce (decay) and reuse the precious nutrients to produce an every more stunning natural environment. I paint watercolours that are are a fresh and often detailed reflection of the plants I has seen or the places I have visited. I am passionate about protecting this precious world of ours and caring for the planet which we rely on to survive. I achieved Fellowship of the Marquetry Society in 2002 and membership of the Society of Botanical Artists in 2004. I have also exhibited many paintings in England including London, and Australia. I have completed a number of commissions and my work is in private collections throughout the UK, and Australia. I am self represented, and am exhibiting in various group shows where I have had a number of successes including winning the Lethbridge 10,000 Small Scale Art Award for 2014, and the EKKA Still Life prize in 2013 and 2015.
