Godhead is a reflection on the idea of wholeness and completion in the context of our life journey. As composite beings featuring a multiplicity of characteristics in our unique personalities we are always in a search for things we consider separate of ourselves overlooking quite often the fact that contained in us is everything we will ever need to feel whole. This painting is part of the series "Heliotropes"; heliotropism is a phenomenon observed in plants and in some animals where they orient themselves in response to the direction of sunlight. The term "heliotrope" is derived from the Greek words "helios," meaning sun, and "tropos," turning or bending. It is this gesture of being inclined towards the light, or rather its symbolic meaning what inspires this series. Movement is expressed in these works, as the concept suggests, the fluid acrylic technique conveys this idea and makes each one unique regardless of their obvious pattern. These works are a constant quest for a kind of presence or sincerity that is required for their genesis. They are representative of elements such as recurrence, repetition and a constant allusion to what I consider to be the ultimate symbol of unity, the circle.
