In works made specifically for this project, Vladimir Yakobtchuk turns to the myths of ancient Greece. According to one version Zeus, who has taken the form of a Swan, seduces Leda. As a result, their union the Dioscuri brothers, the twins- Castor and Pollux, and the beautiful Helen are born. According to the myth, Helen’s abduction by Paris becomes the pretext for the Trojan War. One of the questions that the author asks in this cycle is very accurately expressed by the poet William Butler Yeats in the 1924 poem "Leda and the Swan": “Being so caught up, So mastered by the brute blood of the air, Did she put on his knowledge with his power Before the indifferent beak could let her drop?” In the project "The story of a random hookup that led to war" the artist connects the world of legends with the modern world.
