Gone but not the photo Painting

The big square board was found in a skip and was originally the back of an ikea chest of draws. This painting possibly has more layers and washes than all of my others. I was living in the attic room of a leaky squat in Bristol in rainy season and so overnight the painting could alter as it would only fit in two places in the room, both damp. That coupled with its blankness and the blankness of each stare i painted and repainted and sprayed over led to it being one of the most frustrating objects i owned at the time. When our eviction date had finally been set i decided i could not take it with me and put it out on the street corner staring off down the hill. An hour later it was gone from my life forever except for this photograph.
