Hello, I’m Charlotte B., the artist behind Can’t Be Wax. My journey into the world of wax began with a fascination for its transformative properties. I found that Can’t Be Wax, allows me to express my experiences and curiosities. My artwork is a reflection of my travels, and the feelings that they evoke. I hope that when people view my work, that they also feel a sense of wonder. Under the artistic identity ‘Can’t Be Wax,’ I craft works that explore the transformative potential of wax. Each piece, signed ‘Can’t Be Wax,’ is deeply informed by my global experiences. Having lived in five countries across three continents, and traveled to four, I translate the vibrant hues of Southeast Asia, the stark beauty of the European landscape, and the unique textures and light of Oceania into textured, layered wax creations. Currently residing in Germany, I explore the interplay between memory and material, using wax as a medium to capture the ephemeral nature of lived experience.
