My name is Polina Goldstein (1998, Moscow, Russia). I am an artist and architect based in Milan. I graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute (MARKHI) in 2021 and continued my studies at Politecnico di Milano.
My practice explores the intersection between spatial thinking and abstract painting, investigating how color, form, and gesture construct emotional and perceptual experiences. My architectural background informs my painterly approach, where compositional balance, structure, and spatial relationships play a central role. Through abstraction, I explore the tension between control and spontaneity, structure and intuition. Color acts as both a constructive and expressive force, while gesture introduces subtle disruptions that activate the surface.
I work with oil and acrylic on canvas, as well as drawing and pastel on paper. My work has been presented in exhibitions in Italy and internationally, and is held in private collections in Italy, New York, London, and Moscow.
