About The Artwork

In this painting, a swan has appeared unexpectedly and decided to curve its neck around the face of the person as a sign of protection. It forms like an aureole of love and devotion. Tenderness and gracefulness can be read on the swan's face. Inside its loving and protective embrace, the central face seems enlighted by this ethereal love. On the person's forehead, a golden space opens. Is it the entrance towards one's luminous inner self, the open door to self-realisation? The swan has touched the Soul of this person who is now filled with grace. The bright yellow colours and the sparkles on the clothes are the result of this transfiguration. I hope the viewer can get a feeling of love and protection from this painting. *Hanging hardware not included.

"I am way too abstract to live a life without shapes or colours. That's why I paint, to give meaning to this abstraction" Caroline Guille, artist name Caro. Born in France, amidst a family of artists, I grew up surrounded by nature. My childhood was infused with colours and an idealised vision of life where reality often met fantasy. Very early, I had the intuition that colours could open doors inside of me, revealing hidden mysteries. Later I would develop and transform this intuition into my own world of colours by letting shapes emerge on my canvases. Those semi-representational shapes can be regarded as archetypal guides who can inspire us to reach our individual potential by connecting us with the universal, yet very personal, aspect of our nature. My work is an invitation to feel our shared humanity, to awaken our capacity to feel and to love to engage with others and with the world in a more compassionate and meaningful way. I am fascinated by the process of awakening our inner selves by a dynamic exchange between colours, forms and ideas and by always welcoming elements of surprise, serependity and wonder. My creations are influenced by the ethereal qualities of nature, the invisible power of things, Eastern philosophy, Vedic mythology, abstract expressionist painters, the colourful world of Matisse, Gauguin and the mystical paintings of Caspar David Friedrich.
