This work belongs to the beginning of the Black and White series. It is inspired by different aspects, in this case it is a still life of bottles. With a geometric, minimalist and constructivist style. I wanted to do something where the main or only color was black and then I integrated the green of the bottles into this series. It is made with acrylic pigments, charcoal -on canvas-. Worked with thin, diluted layers of casein glue. Please contact curator@saatchiart.com for more details.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
