This sparkling landscape painting is about the colors of a summer storm coming up at the Northern Sea. The yellows and browns reflect the rape fields, the contrast between the bright shining yellow and the dark grey clouds can be very intriguing for painters, you will often find storm and sun at the same time. I love to see this as a metaphor for life. The light reflections on the water and sand are enhanced with metallic pigments, so the colors in this painting change like the light changes in nature. The painting is 20x20 cm and put into a white wooden floating frame, complete size 24x24 cm. Of course you are free to choose a different frame. Watercolor, Gouache, Metallic Pigments on Canvas. Germany
Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
