ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Healing hurts. The more I go towards certain memories the more I slip away from my body. I’ve been making painting of disembodied heads surrounded by chaos. Flowers wildly grow out of them—are they dead or newly alive? Both? It’s just a short detour from my usual work, and I’m not sure I’ll make many more.

Over the past few years, she has compulsively painted heartbroken femmes that magically grow larger, stronger, and scarier than the world around them. As the paintings grow in number, she grows just a little larger, stronger, and scarier too. Meg works from rural Wisconsin. She splits her time painting between a little blue shack in a junkyard and the storefront artist collective, The Yellow Room.
