About The Artwork

This work is inspired by the painting of Charles Amable Lenoir - A la recherche du temps perdu and rivisited by me. This painting captures a woman gazing directly at the viewer while cradling a glass sphere in her hand. Her intense gaze seems to hold a world of mysteries within the translucent orb, inviting observers to ponder the enigmatic depths of her thoughts. The play of light on the glass adds an ethereal quality to the scene, enhancing the sense of intrigue and wonder.

Born in Naples, Italy in 1970, Sabina graduated from the Academy of Art in Genoa, where she spent most of her life. Her artistic journey began with her first solo exhibition in 1997, during which she was deeply inspired by India, drawing from the vibrant colors of women's attire and the rich culture. Over the years, Sabina has continuously evolved her artistic style, pushing the boundaries of composition and technique. Having lived in Italy, Australia, the UK, and currently residing and working in Germany, Sabina's work draws from her diverse experiences. Some of her creations are inspired by her love for sculptures, often depicting statues or Bas-Reliefs. She particularly enjoys working with limited palettes, creating monochromatic pieces that blur the lines between abstract and realism. In her most recent work, Sabina explores themes of mortality and eternal life. She is currently deeply immersed in studying the Pre-Raphaelite style, which resonates with her and fuels her passion and creativity.
